About Caroline
Who I Am: I'm a project manager and director of operations working both in execution and as a consultant. Probably more importantly for you, I am also an educator by training, and formerly by trade; before I became an entrepreneur, I worked in higher education/student affairs. Higher ed wasn't for me, long-term, but I loved a lot of things about it. My favorite part was introducing people to a new way of making a life. Which brings us to...
What I Do Here: I support aspiring project managers, particularly those pivoting from non-profit and higher education settings, through their transition into project management.
We all win when the world has more confident, competent project managers.
My goal here is to demystify everything I'm doing. I love being a project manager, and I'm proud of the career I've built, and I love that it lets me serve clients who do important work powerfully and effectively. Nothing about it feels secretive to me. Everything about it is something I want to share with up-and-coming project managers.
If PM work feels appealing to you, and you think you can do it... you're probably right.
More than anything, I believe:
My Day Job
I work as the Director of Operations & Strategy at a start-up certified as a Benefit Corporation. I'm also the co-founder of Boundless Impact, a social impact consultancy focused on ethical business coaching, project & program management, marketing tech, and organizational development.
So you still work as a PM?
Yes! I also serve on the board of my local Project Management Institute chapter as our Vice President of Training. I hope that my content feels more like "dispatches from the field" than "back in my day."
My Background
I'm a trained counselor, an MBA, and a certified project management professional. You can read more about my experience earning my PMP here. I also spent about ten years working in higher education in Student Life (Orientation, Student Activities, and Family Programs).
And finally…
I'm proud to have used my career to serve all kinds of people, though I'm always living and learning and being humbled by those I serve. My commitment to sustainable business practices that build a more inclusive world is very important to me. It comes very first, before anything else, and is non-negotiable.
